Banks, insurance companies and even retail stores are now almost fully digitised yet why is the dental industry falling so far behind? Being a ‘paperless’ practice doesn’t stop at running a computerised practice management system – it merely starts. But the benefits for a dental practice where the use of paper is entirely, or at least mostly absent extend way beyond the admirable desire to operate a greener business. “Paperless” practices are ultimately more efficient, secure and scalable and have the time and ability to provide the highest standard of patient care and this can be achieved by digitising and automating as many processes as possible.
With this in mind, we surveyed the market to investigate the desire, and uptake in running a paperless practice, and developed a best practice process around how to achieve this.
